Turbo Tax wont efile my CA return!!! All forms have been released

I have the same issue with form 568 and Turbotax doesn't let me e-file BOTH Federal and State taxes.  Their service rep told me to send the forms via mail.  This is unacceptable!!

I've emailed the issue to the Office of the President at Intuit. Hope to get a response back.

Turbo Tax wont efile my CA return!!! All forms have been released

I got a response from Intuit and they have fixed the issue.  I'm now able to file both my federal and CA state returns electronically without any issues.  Thank you Intuit for your quick resolution on this issue!

Turbo Tax wont efile my CA return!!! All forms have been released

Do you know if they also filed the Form 568? I had one screen tell me it was going to electronically file it. But on the instructions that pop up after filing, it says that I need to mail it in. So I am not really sure.

Turbo Tax wont efile my CA return!!! All forms have been released

I am seeing the same issue with TurboTax 2022. - Home and Business. I have it installed on Windows. I never had issues e-filing Personal CA State Tax before. And yes- I sent 568 by mail.

However, I am seeing the same error for the Personal e-filing of CA State Tax.

I also tried creating a new return from scratch but see the same issue. I have all the latest updats.

Was this issue ever resolved?

You should be able to e-file Form 568. Please try these workaround steps below:

  • As you go through the CA state return in the Income section, click Revisit beside the Business Profit or Loss Adjustment.
  • Click Edit beside your business name.
  • Click Done on the Asset Summary page.
  • On the next page that asks if your business is owned by a Single Member LLC, click Yes.
  • Click Continue on the next page.

Then, the next several screens are there for you to fill in details for Form 568.  The first screen should be the only one with missing information.  Scroll down the page until you see fields that are highlighted which need your input (they are pink on Windows versions of the program).  As you scroll through the page, take a look at line 7.  It should be filled in with $800.

Click Continue to progress through the rest of these screens.  Then check the Forms Mode version of Form 568 to see if it looks correct.

If this does not work for you, please respond back.

Turbo Tax wont efile my CA return!!! All forms have been released

No; it did not work. I checked all the entries and also compared to last year returns. They are the same. I could e-file my CA State Tax last year and I had to mail in my 568 and pay the $800 fees. But there is something in the software that needs to be updated.

I found a similar post which is having the same  issue with no resolution from TurboTax

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/business-taxes/discussion/single-member-llc-not-allowed-to-efile/0...

I have checked my CA State tax information multiple times and compared to last year returns. They are similar.

Any help is appreciated.

Turbo Tax wont efile my CA return!!! All forms have been released

You can electronically file your Form 568 when you file your personal income tax return as long as you only have one Form 568.

Since you are having issues, try deleting Form 568 using "Tools" and reentering the Form.

Here's how to Delete and Start over:

  1. Sign in to TurboTax and open or continue your return, if you haven't already.
  2. Select Tax Tools from the left menu, then delete the State.
  3. Answer Yes to confirm.

How to add a State:

  1. Sign in to TurboTax.
  2. Now select Add a state (this reopens your return) ...
  3. Select State from the left menu.
  4. On the Let's get your state taxes done right screen, select Continue and follow the instructions.
