From what I've heard they're starting with lowest income first and going up the ranks... But I don't see that happening because Ive seen several post they received theirs and make way more than I do. That would be awesome if they'd actually take into consideration the areas affected the most but I don't see how they manage as it is lol
It wouldn't matter if you had the Fees deducted from your return or not. The tax return and stimulus are two totally different deposits. The only thing they're going to look at as far as bank info is that routing number and account number on that return. Which will be to that turbo card. The Santa Barbara whatever has nothing to do with the stimulus payment. They were only involved in the process of your return because you had to give them your consent in order to deduct those fees from your return because not only is the turbocard is through green dot but without YOUR consent they cannot take out that money from your return. In no way shape or form will they be involved with the stimulus deposits.
They're going off of income...
The only way you won't be able to update your info when portal is up is if they've put a deposit date up... It will tell you all that when the portal is available as well. If they haven't set you a date, yes you will be able to change your info.
@Snead I spoke to a rep through TurboTax Live chat... At around 7pm last night. So yea... The fact is you probably shouldn't be giving out information that could very well be false information claiming it to be 100% facts.
@Snead @Santa Barbara Bank has nothing to do with like @Amberl26 said. It’s 2 things needed-routing and account number. If those linked to your card match your 1040, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I worked in banking for 5 years and if a payroll DD can go on a Green Dot card then the stimulus should be no problem as long as the card account match the 1040. And why would Consumer Report have anything to do with it?
@Snead well not all of us.. Some of us are fortunate to still have an active turbo card that with a account and routing numbers that match our return. Even if we had fees and an advance taken out. Soo since that's all the irs looks at when determining where to deposit, Im pretty confident many will receive stimulus on their turbo card. If they also have active turbo card with same account number and routing as on their return as well.
Thank you @Jaragon the only agreement anyone made with Santa whatever is for them to take fees/advance. That's as far as their involvement goes with your turbocard lol
@Snead @As a matter of fact I had the advance. And if you look at my paperwork there is no use of a Santa Barbara Bank. My routing and account number match the ones on my 1040. And why is it when I gave that routing number and account number to my employer they were able to put my check on it? Because it went to no Santa Barbara bank. And even if someone does have to get a paper check stop saying it will get here in October. That is false. IRS issues 20 million a month starting May. They only have 60 million to mail out. Stop spreading false information to people.
This was from my personal return... And let me say Again... I repeat... The stimulus check is totally seperate from tax returns...greendot is the card issuer so as long as the card and account are still active you will recieve a dd just like everyone else.
Mine doesn't mention the Santa Barbara either lol I had to go look because posted my agreement about the fees and advance and clearly says greendot is the issuer and my routing and account numbers match that card sooooo it will work like any other direct deposit
So turbo tax card screwed everyone!?
OK all I can say is sorry that happened in your case but not everyone will have the same issue you did. Stop spreading false information just because you had an issue with your deposit. Idk what you're talking about with different numbers to this santa Barbara place and all that because in my case my account numbers match what's on my card and what's on my return. Card is still Active. The irs will send my stimulus to the account on my return so it will go to my turbocard because that's what those numbers are linked to. Simple as that. There shouldn't be any interference from 3rd party anything.
Because again I repeat that was for your tax return only. Not your stimulus payment. I'll even show you below that my deposit info from my return matches my current active turbo card lol
Obviously not going to show it all but anyone with common sense can come to the conclusion that the irs is going to treat those numbers from my return (bottom) as where to send my payment which is my turbo card (top)
In PLAIN English sir, do you know how direct deposits work? Idk how many times I have to repeat the same thing but your refund is a totally different deposit than what this stimulus package is. What are you not comprehending about that? I'm just going to say it one last time and you can continue on with your fake news all you want...but as long as your card and account is still ACTIVE your dd stimulus will be deposited into your turbocard account just like any other direct deposit will be.
Sorry 1 more thing I wanted to share lol just read that last line @Snead [removed]
Do you understand what that means? I don't know about your case.. But I know my card was not issued by Santa Barbara... It was issued by greendot... Sooo do you see now where your theory here is providing loads of false information?
