9 weeks and counting. No one answers any phones. In the letter states not to fax due to no confirmation and if you have mailed it. I am worried as we should be and I am going to fax it due to I am not sure if it was lost in the mail because they dont answer. I think we all should be worried. 8-9 years with TT but I am done too much Bull. They should be doing all this work. We paid... for what an ulcer!
Anything that requires a human touch has been delayed at the IRS due to the virus situation. Normal processing times will be much longer so patience will be needed.
Read that notice again ... it just said if you fax the papers they will not give you a confirmation and not that you could not fax the info. Fax it now if you wish however it still needs to be attended to by a human and they are short staffed right now.
Thanks Critter, I understand due to Corona things will be slower, but if TT had updated the program with one little prompt. Do you have healthcare or something we would not be waiting. I think we can all agree about that!
I am on your side ... when the program first went live in December I saw the issue and reported it many times ... the fact that it took until March for TT to correct the issue will be the basis of a class action lawsuit for sure.
However ... the user must take some responsibility for failing to at least ask where to enter the 1095-A form they had in their hands ... you were told it had to enter it on the return on the first page of the paperwork that came with it... review it and see. Many people asked where to enter it and were told where on this forum.
I am not a tax person. I knew there were chances from the goverment on no longer being penalized.... so as you stated and I stated program error that has many family in dire straits and I agree I see another class action law suit. But when all is said and done here we sit and sit and wait and no relief in site. I expect it will be another 12 weeks due to the shutdown this is very expensive for Free TurboTax that never is. Just saying. I always read your advise but still cant grasp how TT takes no responsibility and as you stated asked on page 1, well no pop up but that's our fault. We could go around and around over this. I say we agree to totally disagree.
This was my first year having health insurance at all. I had no idea what a 1095 A was and I didn’t even get mailed the form from my health insurance .once I was told I needed it from the irs I called my insurance company and they said “it’s online” to print out. I was pissed to be honest.
Well TT is simply a DIY program and cannot intervened with the IRS on your behalf ... this is beyond the scope of their abilities. And it is unfortunate that this virus shut things down but they still cannot do anything for any of their users. The IRS must finish their job when they can.
If you signed up for ACA insurance online then the rules were given to you and if you did not get one mailed to you then you need to take it up with them ... make sure your address is correct. I get mine every year (8 years running) AND I get email notifications when they are available online before the mailed in one arrives.

Did you see anything in TT stating do you have Healthcare and if you did (which I didnt). Dont you agree if you have ever used TT they should have a pop up asking you when it double checked your on line form? Their updated program has effected so many people. Pure disregard. 1st they state for free (which in Califonia class action lawsuit misleading) I have never sued anyone ever but I am so mad also I will jump on that bandwagon. Sure it wont be worth it financially but it will feel nice that TT takes responsibility and follows thru to the end and helps their customers. I am sure if I had paid for the deluxe they would have answers. Good luck and as they say Hurry up and wait! And wait and wait.
Again ... TT has no ability to do anything for you ... it cannot move the IRS any faster than anyone else can except a taxpayer advocate when they start taking calls again. You could file a form 911 if you like for now :
Thank you I shall read it and see if it helps. Thanks for the update Critter.
For those following along, you'll see my first post on this topic back on page 1. On February 9th I filed, with QB not asking if I received the tax credit from the marketplace. On Friday March 20th I got the notice in the mail requesting the corrected form. On Monday March 23 I faxed the corrected form and a corrected return (because the amount of my refund changed) back to them. We just tried the "where's my return" tool where you put in your ss # and amount of your return, and they still had the OLD amount on file, not the new corrected amount of my refund. That indicates to me the corrected forms I faxed back to them a month ago still aren't in the system. This should give you an indication how long this is taking.
They’ve told me (the irs) if you have mailed it and then fax it it will slow the process down more on your particular taxes because they now hav duplicate copies being sent to them.
