If it does indeed prompt for it now, then congratulations to Intuit for recognizing and resolving the issue - two months late. That doesn't help us early filers at all, but it's good that fewer people will suffer the inconvenience or hardship because of it.
The rest of us have will have to deal with the present and examine whether to continue business with Intuit and it's products. Public acknowledgment and refunding of charges to those who paid for premium services would be the responsible thing to do.
The program has a flaw ... I said it from day one when the online version went live in December and mentioned it to several TT employees.... obviously no one paid attention since the program to date still will not automatically walk you thru that section EVEN if you say you have medical expenses to report in those first pre interview questions ... completed 5 fake test returns and I was looking for that section but every time the program passed the entire deductions section completely by. The program stopped everyone for the last 6 years in a Health Insurance tab but this year it is not alerting anyone especially the 1095-A folks ... big goof up. In the pre interview questions there should be one for the ACA AND again in the deductions section one of those annoying "did you have this" questions should be the 1095-A.
I really hope Turbo Tax fixes this problem. How are we suppose to leave it to the Experts in Turbo Tax if they Fail so many People
So many people are affected that we’ll probably only come out with $5 a piece when the lawsuit is over lol but I’m DOWNNNN ;-)!
Since our job is not to keep up with the laws and what forms need to be filled out I feel that they should have asked us and we would not be in this situation personally I would like to refund
Exactly!
I totally agree it's not our jobs to keep up with but they should be asking I stated on another post I feel we deserve a refund
Doctor you go online with get your 1095 then call TurboTax they will correct it and then you have to wait

TurboTax changed the location for the entry of the Form 1095-A when Congress lowered the penalty for not having health insurance to $0.00.
If you do get a 12C letter from the IRS asking for your Form 1095A and Form 8962, Premium Tax Credit, follow these instructions:
1Sign In to Turbo Tax
2Click Tax Home, in the upper left. Scroll down to Your Returns and Documents
3If you do not see options under that heading, look to the right and click on Show
4Make sure the correct year is underlined in blue
5Select Amend (change) return and then Amend Using Turbo Tax Online
6Do not click continue on the “We’ll help you change (amend) your return” screen. Simply go to the left menu and
7Click on the Federal and then
8Click on Deduction and Credits in the upper portion of the page.
9Scroll down and click on Medical, Show More.
10Choose Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A) by clicking on Start or Revisit
11Enter your 1095-A form and generate an 8962 form.
12Click through the ACA section
13Select Tax Tools, on the left menu
14Select the Print Center
15Print, save, or preview this year’s return and click in the box to select federal returns
16Click on View or Print Forms to print the forms you need
17You can view the forms from here and select just to print the pages with
18Form 8962 and Form 1040 (if needed)
Yeah, great instruction...but you forgot to mention that if you used the "Free" edition you will get another screen after step 11 that says you must pay $39 if you want to continue.
So, if you used the "Free" version, then hit the road dead beat! You're double screwed! Turbo Tax doesn't need your kind anymore! HA HA HA HA

I spoke with the IRS 3 times today and was informed that you have to send the required documents, they will not accept an amended electronic return. I’m more than frustrated and disappointed with turbo tax this year. Thankfully the IRS agents I spoke with were more than pleasant to deal with.
First you cannot efile any amended return ... and in your situation it is not called for ... what you need to provide is the 1095-A and the form 8962 as directed by the notice you got.
Here’s the issue though, I paid them 130.00 to do the job correctly and the failed in a spectacular way. Are they going to reimburse my money along with everyone else’s money? I highly doubt it.
What does this mean? Does it mean we should just do an ammendment to the return, or are these that can also be done without ammending?
I've not received a letter yet. My return was just accepted a few days ago. How long did it take to recieve the letter?
Wondering if it's best to take action now, or wait on that letter.
They're going to be so screwed if that's their reply. Do they really want ANOTHER class action suit because of Free File? May be time to file an official complaint and bring attention on social media.
The tax prep industry shouldn't even exist. Literally no reason. We should get a bill or refund check directly from the IRS. They're superfluous leeches.
I'll laugh if someone like Sanders is elected and pushes for reform. Good chance their Credit Karma merger would go south too. 😂
