Tax implication of ordering furnitures for home office.

Hello

I was working in Colorado. Recently due to covid, my company gave full remote option. I moved to midwest and started working from home. My company is reimburaing me for buying furnitures for my home office. Let say if i buy furniture worth 500$. Is it taxable. I am not sure if the company will ask me to return the furniture if in future i leave the company

Ask your employer if the reimbursement for the furniture will be added to your W-2, and whether they will want the furniture if you leave the job.   As for claiming the expense for buying the furniture on your tax return you cannot do that.   Job-related expenses are not deductible on a federal tax return for W-2 employees.
