Hi

I am on opt (F1 student visa) status. I am trying to use turbo tax for my tax filing. This is the first time I will be filing as a resident for tax purposes as it is my 6th calender year in the US.

Last year ( 2020). I filed only form 8843 as I had no income as a student.

Now, while using turbo tax for filing for 2021, it says I am required to incoporate 2020 form 1040.

I do have my W2 for 2021. Please advice how to procees. thanks

Can you clarify where it is asking about 2020?  Is it for days of presence or something else?  Thanks! @Palok17

    Thank you for your response.

I will have to go though it again to check the step wherein it mentions about previous year's 1040.

Wanted to know whether I can upload my W2 and other details through turbotax to complete my 2021 filing? is there any other requirement.

This is the first time I am using turbotax, as all these yeras I used sprintax. Thank you.

@Palok17  Nope.  You're ready.  TurboTax has a step by step guide to walk you through.  Good luck!
