State taxes

I don't owe taxes to my State, CT and  don't have a refund. Do I need to file?

You must file a Connecticut income tax return if:

• You had CT income tax withheld;
• You made estimated tax payments to CT;
• You made an extension payment to CT;
• You meet the gross income test (see below);
• You had a federal alternative minimum tax liability;
• You are claiming the Connecticut earned income tax credit

if your gross income for the taxable year exceeds:

• $12,000 and you are married filing separately;
• $15,000 and you are filing single;
• $19,000 and you are filing head of household; or.
• $24,000 and you are married filing jointly or qualifying widow(er) with dependent child.
