I purchase my turbotax deluxe at Costco in FL this year since we're snowbird instead of online which would of included the state version for filing in IA. How do I get that version without paying double?

Make sure your CD/download says one free state included on the box. If it doesn't say that, then you may need to pay for a state download. if so, then when you prepare your state return in the software product, it will let you prepare the state without asking you to pay. Here is how to download the state of Iowa.
This is ridiculous if you purchased the deluxe version and now have to pay extra for your state. ALL deluxe versions should include one state, even if it isn't used. It's an Intuit scam.
Why should all the people in Florida and the other states that don't have an income pay extra for a state program? Deluxe without state is less than with state.
Pay extra? That's funny, the cost for Florida "Deluxe" is pretty much the same as Virginia "Deluxe" with State included, unless you believe paying just shy of Deluxe with the $40 fee for state (almost $100) is fair. I'm all for any cost difference, but guess what, $40 isn't it. Not another penny to Intuit from me.
Well there is a little difference at least at Costco. Now you know to check the Deluxe version you are buying. One says + State.
I appreciate you confirming the ripoff. I paid $36.88 at Sam's club ($10 off bonus) without the state in Florida, they want $44.88 in Virginia with state included, Now they want $40 more for in program purchase to generate a state tax form. I could have went for a $10 fee to add state. $40, no way. Deceptive advertising.
