The moving negative number from 1d to positive 1E worked BUT shouldn't the program handle what the brokers send?
Is this the fix they are going with or is something better in the works? It will take me a long time to find and change 130 errors not very "turbo".
@midsgt you can’t fix them. There’s nothing to fix. TurboTax is just broken.
It's not a fix it's just a work around where you have to go back to your federal return and make changes so they will be compatible with the state worksheet.
Then how is the federal form correct?
I don’t think that reporting something different than what your brokerage reports is a good idea.
I would rather just print it out and send it to the state.
I followed those exact steps and it didn’t work for me…..
Is there a work around or solution????? It’s already March 16. I efiled my federal taxes but am unable to efile my NJ taxes because of this error…. TT won’t even allow me to print and file NJ. WHAT DO I DO NOW???
How did it work. I tried the same thing and still got errors. I only have 4 errors.
Even with the errors it let me print it out as a pdf. I will wait till April for a fix before I mail it.
how did you print it? I already efiled my federal tax returns but not NJ yet. I also owe money to NJ so I need to mail a check.
At the top click on file then click print/save for your records. I had to download Acrobat Reader to get it to work if you don't already have it. You will have to send them a check for the amount. There might be a way to pay by credit card but I haven't gotten that far still hoping for a fix from TT.
I noticed my brokerage did not include the cost basis on quite a few options trades. My account statements are correct but the way the brokerage reported the information on the consolidated 1099 it looks like the proceeds from some of the transactions are reported as proceeds and net proceeds with no cost basis. Unfortunately you have to go back to the Federal return and amend the transactions one by one to include the cost basis and proceeds which should equal what is being reported just not broken down in the correct format. I believe someone may have mentioned this in one of the earlier threads. Good luck.
