Return Rejected for missing IP PIN

So, we misplaced my wife's IP PIN and could not retrieve online.

Our return was was rejected, I guess even the discover card payment to them.

So, they are mailing us the IP PIN.

My question is do I wait for the IP, or paper file? 

If I paper file, when is the postmark date?

So I fixed my number and re-submitted.  Do I wait the 24-48 hours to see what happens?
