[Question] How to Delete a Form (TT H&B Mac)

Lot of instructions on how to delete a form, HOWEVER, every effort to delete the form renders in what 'appears' to be a deleted form, but it is not deleted.

TurboTax Home & Business 2019 Mac Download
Forms > Search (find form) > Menubar Forms > Remove Form (#)

This results in a blank gray page. Nothing deleted however. You can save and return to the return, it is still there. You can move to one area and then back to forms, the original form is still present. No impact on the financial liabilities.

Given some previous discussions I've seen, this is about deleting forms. There is no need to go into the form numbers, the reasoning behind deleting the forms.... this is a technical question on how to get a form deleted. Thank you

[Question] How to Delete a Form (TT H&B Mac)

What form?    Many forms come for other forms and if deleted will just re-appear  until the underlying form is deleted (or the information in it) first.

The form in question today is form 2210.

You must delete the 2210A1 first if you do not want to use the annualized method.

Same thing...delete one, delete both.... you get a gray screen, but nothing actually deleted. Keeps showing back up every time.

Form 2210 is for the underpayment of estimated tax penalty and is not always required, but if the underpayment is because of uneven income during the year then then the 2210 form is used to show that more income was in one quarter that other quarters of the year that will reduce the penalty, that is actualizing the income.

Then the form is required because the income and tax withholding on your 1040 form require it.

See the flow chart on the top of the 2210 form.

[Question] How to Delete a Form (TT H&B Mac)

mmm...right...not asking the definition or purpose of the form.

Specifically, how does one delete this form from the tax return?

[Question] How to Delete a Form (TT H&B Mac)

TurboTax Support got this addressed in quick fashion. While this isn't a true 'delete' of the form it is a way to address the form specifics.

1) Inside EZ View, select Search (magnifying glass, top right) and type in Underpayment, select search icon.

2) In my case, option was third from the top "Underpayment penalty for being self-employed part of year."
This explains the process....

3) Select Search Topics (menu bar > right of Topics List...Search Topics w/magnifying glass)
4) Select Underpayment Penalty & follow the screens.

This handled everything. Thank you TurboTax Support!
