You shouldn't need CDs. You can probably correct this situation. If it's not solved with the info below, we can get a Mac user to assist you.
What happens when you try? What do you mean by "download won't open"? Do you mean that nothing happens when you double-click the installation file? Or do you mean that you installed the program OK, but nothing happens when you try to launch the program? Does the TurboTax checkmark icon bounce in the system tray a few times and disappears?
Is this how you tried to install?

After installing, empty the Trash, and restart your computer.
Launch TurboTax and let it autoupdate.
Or is this your issue? It looks like you are using OS X 10.9.5. When trying to open TurboTax after installation, does the TurboTax "checkmark" icon bounce a few times before disappearing from the system tray? i.e., are you experiencing the problem addressed in the FAQ below? If so, try the steps in the first half of the solution to temporarily adjust your security settings. Once your programs are working, you can restore the security settings.
