Tax Year Prior to 2020: My stimulus got rejected. Why? What do I do?

1) have you already filed in either 2018 or 2019? (if yes, that is why you were rejected)

2) did it state why you were rejected?

Mine got rejected also, what is the address I need to mail it to?

So print out the papers it tells you to then you’ll find your specific states mailing address on either the 3rd or 4th page.

It says there will be info when you print it as to where to send it. If not I would send it to your local IRS office. Do you use Healthcare through the marketplace?

No,this was simply to file stimulus direct deposit info to IRS. How can that info be rejected?

Wait for the IRS portal which should be up late next week.

@goofygrape55 - the TT site is just for those that are not otherwise required to file a tax return,

if you filed already, you are already signed up for the stimulus payment; the issue is that if you did not provide your banking information on the tax return, you will get a check instead of direct deposit.  The IRS is supposed to set up a website to permit you to update that information, but hasn't done so yet,

Well I found out that Turbotax doesn't tell us that when we do it this way, we are file a simple tax return,  so if you have any tax filing requirements or dont put the PIN or many things that have to be included on a 1040 form, it will be rejected.

I am stuck in a similar spot I have to go to an in office visit to verify and my appointment was cancelled because of the shut down, now I can't do anything till this is handled. Will the IRS use the direct deposit from my rejected return this year or do you know when the portal will be available to give them my direct deposit info

Same thing happened to me. Turns out I shouldn't have applied. Since it was rejected, do I do nothing? Or do I have to print and mail?

If I do nothing will the IRS just use my 2018 info? Even though the turbo tax stimulus was rejected? I also receive SSI for my son.
