My healthcare provider sent me a form 1095-A, but TurboTax is asking for a form 1099-HC and keeps rejecting my return--what do I do?

My healthcare provider sent me a form 1095-A, but TurboTax is asking for a form 1099-HC and keeps rejecting my return--what do I do?
To correct this error you will need to edit/revisit your MA state return. The 1099-HC information is required in MA, if you have a private healthcare insurance policy, but you have a 1095-A that indicates a government sponsored healthcare insurance policy.
Click through to the healthcare questions. Check the box that reads "I had something else" and "UN-check" the box for "Private Insurance."
The dropdown should open and you will most likely check "MassHealth" but if one of the others applies select that one. Any of these selections will nullify the need for a 1099-HC
Continue through the remaining questions to verify all are complete.
