You may have to enter it as both entries...The form 1099-G/INT is basically two forms in one.  The information shows the amount of refund, credit or interest issued to you in a calendar year.  So look carefully at the description fields... if it says it's refund, then you would report as refund on 1099-G... if it says interest.. then you would report it as 1099-INT. If it lists both values, report them as two forms.

IF the forms shows refund, report it as if you received form 1099-G.

  1. Federal Taxes
  2. Wages and Income
  3. 1099-MISC and Other Common Income, select State and Local Tax Refunds on form 1099-G

IF you also have interest, please enter it as if you received 1099-INT:

  1. Federal Taxes
  2. Wages and Income
  3. Interest and Dividends, select Interest on 1099-INT

No, Form 1099-INT is reporting interest income.

Use these steps to go to the interest income section of your return:

  • On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
  • This opens a box where you can type in “interest income” and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
  • The search results will give you an option to “Jump to interest income
  • Click on the blue “Jump to interest income” link and enter your information

The payer name is whatever entity sent you the tax document and the interest amount will go in box 1 on the screen.

Hi,

The system in the Turbotax, in my account shows me question about 1099-G amd it says, do you received $340? I do not even know, when I received this amount and how. Whe can I find this information? I searched among the documents for the tax for the last year, there is no such form. I can't figure out what it is.

It’s almost surely state and/or local refunds that were automatically brought over with your other tax info, if you transferred your last year’s tax data over to this year's return.

To see your return as it is now, which should include this $340 in income:

  1. Open or continue your return.

  2. Select Tax Tools in the left menu (if this isn’t on your screen, select the menu icon in the upper-left corner).

  3. With the Tax Tools menu open, you can:

    • View the entire return: Select Print Center and then Print, Save, or Preview This Year's Return (you may be asked to register or pay first).

    • View only Form 1040: Select Tools. Next, select View Tax Summary in the pop-up, then Preview my 1040 in the left menu.
