If you were married as of the end of 2019, you can file separately or jointly. Here is a link to an IRS interactive worksheet to determine your correct filing status: Filing Status Interactive Worksheet
If you worked and had income during 2019, you need to enter your W2, or 1099 (self-employment) income.
If you had a W2 go to Federal from the left-hand menu
Choose Income & Expenses from the menu at the top
Choose Job (W-2) go through the interview questions and complete the W2 information, exactly as it appears on your form.
If you received a 1099 or other self-employment income (cash, checks, etc) but no 1099, you will enter that income in the Self-Employment Income and Expenses Section.
