Missing 2021 Form 1116

I went ahead and instead of taking the foreign tax credit I took the foreign taxes as an itemized deduction I will then amend my return and change it from an itemized deduction to a foreign tax credit win the schedule B is available.

The Update this morning included the 1116 Schedule B. It looks good. Didn’t try to efile since my return has other substantial error I am waiting on a fix for. Self employed health insurance deduction.

Pleased to see some progress. Foreign taxes paid from K-1s aren't being included on 1116 at this point.

Will wait to see this is fixed at a later point.

I just spent 45 minutes with Intuit help.  Form 1116, Schedule B cannot be e-filed this year, now or ever.  I was told to file printed returns.   There will be another product release on March 31, but, according to Intuit, that release will not fix this problem.  This is truly lousy performance.

Completed 1116 fine now. Trying to file and firm 2555 which I am not using (foreign earnings exclusion) is showing up and generating an error. I try deleting the form or whey is behind form but it does not work, still generating error, and preventing efiling

I am using TT Desktop. With today's update the form 1116 schedule B is available, and the error has disappeared. I was able to get through all the way short of submitting the return (and paying the fee for e-filing the state return). Some people have said that they are still getting an error when e-filing. I am a bit confused. Can someone from TT clarify if we can e-file or not (with form 1116 schedule B/foreign tax credit carryover)?

Update TurboTax today. The errors disappeared. 1116 related forms looked ok. Tried to eFile, paid $25 state eFila and in the last step it says cannot locate Form1116ScheduleB.pdfPlease go and reattach it. Then try e-filnag again??

Got the 1116 problem solved. Got the ridiculous 2555-t solved by unchecking eligibility for 2555-T in w-2 section. Got to efiling and it says there is a technical glitch not allowing me to transmit. Frustrated

@katikkanen Were you able to attach it and e-file? Are there instructions that you can share?

Can someone from TT respond if we will be able to e-file from 1116 schedule B (not send as attachment) using TT Deluxe Windows? If so, when? That way I can decide if I should proceed with e-filing using OLT. Thanks.

I cannot eFile because it TurboTax cannot find the attachment 1116SheduleB. I don't know how to attach the form. I actually have two copies because I have two different income categories. The actual forms seem to have the same name when you look on the forms view. I am just wondering if the software tries to create/attach two pdf files with the same filename. That of course would create an error.

They said one day delay from issuance of form to efile. So try Saturday for efile.

This is all well and nice if you happen to be using the desktop product.  Has anyone had any luck with the ONLINE Deluxe product yet?

I have successfully filed on a desktop. For you, and this is only a guess...  Create a PDF of form 1116 schedule b and name it  "Form1116ScheduleB". Put it in a directory (using windows) of c:/attachment/Form1116ScheduleB.pdf.

Then try filing. Just a guess mind you.
