Massachusetts Schedule SC error

line 7 of the Massachusetts schedule SC says to multiply line 6 by .6 (60%).  The calculation done by Turbotax gives the wrong number.  It multiplies by .4, not .6.  The low changed from .4 to .6 last year!

Click Review to see if you are missing some forms needed in order to e-file.

Many federal and state forms are not yet available.  Check here for form availability. The dates are subject to change.

Tax form availability tool,

No hurry to e-file since the IRS will not begin to accept/reject 2023 e-files until January 29.   And….a state return cannot be accepted until after the IRS accepts your federal return.

The error is a computational error.  The instrctions are correct but the program uses 40% instead of 60% in the calculation.  The 40% number was correct last year.  It changed in 2023.

Please look at the Tax Form Availability link that xmasbaby0 gave you. The form SC is not available yet.

Since the forms that have not been released are from 2022, it is not surprising that the percentage is the same as the previous year. Check it after the form is released for this year.
