TurboTax Is Discontinuing ItsDeductible—Again. Longtime Users Deserve Better

Exactly. The vast majority, I assume, were paying TurboTax users but there was a (probably small but not insignificant) number of people who were using ItsDeductible but NOT paying for TurboTax.

I have been using It's Deductible within the desktop copy of TurboTax that I purchase each year.

ItsDeductible is (was) a separate program. You may have imported data from ItsDeductible into TurboTax but they were separate programs.

It's Deductible was a feature within TurboTax. It may have been available separately and for free, but I never used it. For me it was a feature within TurboTax that was extremely useful. If TurboTax does not have that feature, I have no reason to remain loyal to TurboTax.

It was NOT a "feature within TurboTax"; it was a separate program. If it were "within TurboTax", some users could not have used it free of charge without also using TurboTax. You might have been able to import data from ItsDeductible directly into TurboTax but the two were separate. Hence, you DID use it for the purposes of importing its data into TurboTax when you prepared your income tax return.

The one nice feature of ItsDeductible was the ability to enter donations throughout the year as they were made. You can't and couldn't do that with TurboTax.

Then switch to H&R Block or TaxAct. What's the problem? Intuit doesn't care.

It was the only program that allowed you to download your contributions directly into Turbotax without rekeying them individually.  It was, therefore, part of Turbotax.

good advice, I will switch to HR Block

Do you speak for TurboTax or are you just an opinionated individual? I came to express my disappointment about a useful feature being removed from a product I have used for many years. Am I not allowed to express my disappointment? You can argue doggedly that It's Deductible was not a feature within TurboTax, and based on my own experience, I can disagree with you. And, I was not asking for your permission to go elsewhere.

Yes, you are allowed.

Yes, you can, but you are wrong.

I really don't care what you do.

TurboTax Is Discontinuing ItsDeductible—Again. Longtime Users Deserve Better

Unfortunately, I never received (or missed) any emails from TurboTax stating It's Deductible would be discontinued. I learned this when using my purchased copy of TurboTax 2025 and not finding the option to use It's Deductible while inputting my non-cash donations. I was able to value my donations by opening my 2024 version of TurboTax and bringing up It's Deductible within that program. I put the data into an Excel spreadsheet. However, when I tried to manually load the data into TurboTax 2025, the popup instructions are strongly recommending I input each individual item separately. That will be very time consuming since I made several donations to Goodwill with many different items in each donation. After 20+ years of using TurboTax and many years of using It's Deductible, it is very frustrating that they have removed this valuable tool while increasing the price of the TurboTax software. I will definitely consider other tax programs for 2026.

check the requirements but you don't need to input each item individually, tho believe there are additional reporting requirements if over $500.  see this post

They probably won't be much different from TurboTax (except the interface will be crappier).

I can't see where the other programs allow import of ALL of your donations into their programs. They do help you value the donations you made, but it appears you have to enter them into the programs.

One of my cumulative donations was more than $500 and the program asked me to provide the price I paid for the items. Since there is no way I can provide that information (I don't have receipts for every item in my house), I had to break up the donation into parts. I grouped items (e.g. 10 men's shirts) but that still made several entries per donation. A much more time consuming effort when compared to inputting the items once into It's Deductible and being done.
