It is not letting me e-file federal.. It says I have to mail return?

There are certain circumstances that preclude e-filing. If the program is not allowing you to e-file, you will need to mail in your return.

what is the reason given? is it being rejected or won't it even allow you to submit?

I figured it out,  but thanks anyway.  My license was expired.... go figure
