Is there and issue with NY form IT-225 for line with A-101? It keeps telling me to fix my return, and when I enter 0, it tells me to enter on Federal return?

The 0 versus blank thing didn't work for me. Really frustrating, TT. Let's hope deleting NY form IT-225 won't cause any audit issues. For example, HSA pre-tax contributions aren't deducted in NY. Ugh.

Hey MayaD, I don't think it's the user's fault. It's definitely an issue with TurboTax and not us. This might be the first and the last time I use this software.

I tried clearing the box and still get the error.  The only thing in box 14 is the NYSDI amount.  Did not contribute to flexible benefit plan.  I have spent hours trying to get this to work.  Will TurboTax fix this glitch so I can file my taxes?  I don't want to file paper.  Wish there was someone I could call without spending another $119 to upgrade.  Already spending almost as much as having someone else prepare it with filing 3 different states!!!  Should not have to spend so much to do your own tax return.

I don't see the tool on my turbo tax to delete a form?

If you have the Online product, to delete a form, do the following:

1. Go to Tax tools on the left.

2. Go to Tools underneath that.

3. Go to Delete a Form in the center.

4. Choose the form to delete.

If you have the CD/download product, then go into Forms mode (upper right in Windows), then pick the form from the list on the left. When you display the form, Delete Form is a button at the bottom of the screen.

Thank you.  I will try that.  But I already decided to clear the return and start over.  If I still get the error, I will try that.  Thinking of going to another platform.  TurboTax is pricing when you have several state returns to file.

If you do not have NYC flexible benefits allocable to NYS, then you should enter $0 as shown on the screen below. This will delete the IT-225 from your return.

I deleted it . However the form keeps popping back up . Nothing is working.  There must be a way to fix this issue. Very frustrating

I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:

TurboTax Online:

  1. Sign into your online account.
  2. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools
  4. On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.”
  5. This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us.
  6. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.

TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:

  1. Open your return.
  2. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent” *
  3. This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us.
  4. Please provide the Token Number (including the dash) that was generated in the response.

*(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)

FIX: I had the same very frustrating issue but think I figured it out, as I just submitted successfully. You must open the FORMS view (top right next to Live tax advice, at least on my Windows desktop version). Then go to the Form with the error from the left nav bar (it will have a red error symbol next to it). MANUALLY delete the offending 0. I think for me it showed "0." with the period and I had to delete both characters then pressed tab and the error cleared.

When I tried someone else's fix of not entering anything in the box in the step by step view, that didn't work for me. But when I changed to form views it let me delete the 0 and submit. Hope this helps!!
