Yes, there has been returns that has processed through the IRS. Honestly, since the IRS has accepted the returns, you are more than halfway there. The returns will be processed by the IRS. If you are entitled to the item, IRS will make the determination based on the information submitted. There are several processed returns reporting the 3rd payment of the Cares Act 401K withdrawal.
I just received my refund today, so yeah, it worked, but that doesn't take away my absolute disappointment in this product. I completed the workaround shared on this message board after two rejections last Friday, March 10, and my returns were accepted both by the IRS and State of CA the same day. This form is identical to last year's. While I understand TT needed to wait for the IRS to release the form, which was done in early February, this should have been released by TT MUCH sooner and without the coding error creating the rejections and the need for us, the consumers, to have to figure out how to fix it ourselves. This a complete failure on the part of TT, and their customer service/support was not educated on the issue or the fixes consistently. Unacceptable, and just because, I won't be purchasing again.
But were those approved returns processed through TT? I have a hard time believing that from a mere week ago when we were ALL submitting faulty TT forms only get rejected that enough time has lapsed for processing through to approval and awaiting refund. I have certainly heard of other prep services with that outcome. But TT? Please confirm.
Have spent the past week or so messing with my return to remove line C with no success in the online version. Thought I’d give it a shot today and after clicking review a new screen popped up that highlighted the 8915 form and allowed me to edit and remove the word ‘coronavirus’. Seems like TT may have finally fixed this issue. A short time after submission, my returns were accepted.
Accepted on the 11th, with the work around. Still waiting for approval. The 8915- F form was the only issue. In fact the only issue I ever had with TurboTax. Usually my return is approved by now, so fingers crossed…
Same. Mine was submitted a week ago with the work around. Still not approved. 🙄
yes, both federal and state returns are approved and refund is paid; already been deposited in my bank account. I used the TT desktop software after being rejected twice on the 9th and finally submitted and accepted the third time on the 10th early morning after going through the fix explained here in this thread. Note that the "fix" was different for the desktop software versus online.
How would I use the desktop version?
So what do I need to do to fix this issue? I really don’t want to start all over with Freetax Usa. Doing this myself with TT was very time consuming, which took me hours to complete.
online version ok so today i deleted the ENTIRE returned and started over....and filled in EXACTLY the way it was on my 2021 Tax return...and nothing changed the amount owed....i am SCARED to DEATH to hit submit and have it rejected....im thinking of going to an accountant... i cannot believe this is going on for 2 weeks now...its pure insanity....
Still not approved. Did the fix. Was accepted. But never in the history of my using TT has a return not been approved this long. Only one person on this thread has said they were approved. Anyone else?
After being rejected the very first time, I was contemplating on waiting to see if TT could resolve this. It’s very time consuming completing our personal and self employment taxes. I decided to give it another try before going with FreeTax USA. I called TT directly and luckily the agent I spoke with was very knowledgeable. She advised many of them completed training on fixing this issue. She took control remotely and walked me through the fix. It was maybe 5 mins or less. She said she’d watch the status for the next 30 minutes and call me. Well look at this!! Approved! Federal and state returns. I’m just posting the screen shot from the federal email I received.
Please confirm that you deleted both "Form 8915-F" and "Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Distr" and then go back to the retirement section and reenter the information (in TurboTax Online):
In TurboTax Desktop you need to switch to Form Mode and select the "8915E Wks" and then select delete on the bottom. This will delete the worksheet and Form 8915-F. Then switch back to interview mode.
If you still have issues with Form 8915-F it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2022" file that is experiencing this issue. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions for TurboTax Online:

We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.
@JGF22 Please be aware, when your return was accepted the IRS will issue a refund within 21 days for most returns. Please see When will I get my federal tax refund? details.
I couldn’t keep up with everything that I was checking and unchecking. I can tell you that you have to do it 3 times, before submitting. But it does require you to uncheck the box once and the 3rd time, you have to put the check mark back. You ask have to use the drop down area and choose any disaster that’s in your state. The 2nd time around, you’ll have that disaster box blank. I’d say call TT and they’ll walk you through this.
Truly Unbelievable. I tried so hard to stay here, talked to 3 agents ( that did their best, but couldn't find a work around to fix C19 IRA Disaster Distributions (One of them put me on hold and hung up after 30 mins.)) The last straw was that they needed me to pay $139 more to use live to find a way to fix this. Unconscionable. I'm really pissed. Ive been a user since 2019 and on Mint since it came out.
So bummed this company sucks so bad...
