My 2 cents, stop trying to manipulate the forms. I would wait for an official patch. You don't want to get audited due to turbo tax.
Glad I left this company.
I did those steps, refilled and hour later received we email that my Fed return has been accepted.
No one is manipulating the forms.
The worksheet needs to be corrected and then the form will repopulate.
I am getting same error when I try to e-file and this is what the form looks like:
I also tried the "fix" and the fix does not work.
@DavidD66 any advice?
If you're using the online version like me I don't think we can fix it as it only allows the interview/question format to populate the fields. The desktop/CD software allows you to edit the forms and worksheets directly. Would be interested to know if anyone figured out a fix using the online version.
Has anyone talked to TT about getting this fixed for the online version? I tried to “fix the error” and just went back to same page. Will not let me go past that. This is very frustrating.
I just called TT and while the agent understood my issue and I mentioned the other filers in this forum that were facing issues it seems like it is a bug in the software though a "new one" and there were no instructions she could give for me to resolve my issue. Guess we will ahve to wait for a response from TT and when this small issue can be fixed.
This is what I was just told by one of the TurboTax Live agents that I spent the last 90 minutes working through this issue with:
Ok so what i was just told was that the coders gotta code and itll still be up to a few days. Im unsure as to why the updated release date says that it is available in that case but the latest info ive rceived says otherwise. Im so sorry you have to deal with this issue. Iget where you are coming from 100%. Id be the with the same mindset as you.
So the "Tax form availability" page is not accurate? The form is not, actually, available? This is just completely inexcusable. The level of incompetence on TurboTax's part borders on criminal here.
Thank you for hanging in there for 90 minutes and posting this update. I agree the level of incompetence borders on criminal. Why bother to have a "Tax Form Availability" page, when it is worthless. I hope someone high up on the food chain is monitoring these conversations and takes the necessary actions. But, then again, I have always been an optimist, so, I doubt it with today's management in any company.
I’m on the online version.
Apparently the form is available. My return was being rejected, too but just went through. The issue with mine was last year the box on my 8915-F was both checked for coronavirus AND had COVID-19 written as the reason on C.
The person from TT realized this and after almost 2 hrs of trying this and that they had me say no to the question whether it was Covid-19 related, pick a random disaster from the drop box, go through a few more questions then they had me redo the reason check box and they refreshed it on their end and the entry of COVID-19 was gone from the 8915-F. Then I refiled and within an hour it went through.
The process we went through was a little more lengthy but that’s the gist of my issue. I’ve got to give credit where it’s due. The TT rep really worked on this and after her being the 4th person I spoke to and had try to help me, it’s really hot or miss with them. Cherri was just a hit.
I hope this helps someone
So they were only able to fix the online version by talking to a rep? Should us online people wait it out for a fix?
Go to forms and click 8915-et erase Covid-19 from the fema form number. Only box D need to be check. Close form and then refile. Mine has now been approved.
This worked for me on the online version:
Please try these steps to fix the rejection issue:
Another option is to delete "Form 8915-F" and "Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Distr" and then go back to the retirement section and reenter the information:
Are you using the online or desktop software version? For online we are not able to perform that step but I wanted to validate. Thanks!
I’m using the desktop version. I have no clue how to navigate the online version.
