We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?
Hi Cynthia, in past years tax returns when I entered the amount of money from my 1099-R that was used for insurance premiums Box 5, the software knew to enter the max amount that could be claimed ($3000) for the Federal return and $400 the State return was also automatically calculated.
In this years return software itis not doing the calculation. When I go to the end of the Federal section it says there is a problem that needs to be fixed. If I edit the information to say that only $3000 of the amount in box 5 was used, it then says that the Federal return is good to go, but the State return is showing an error. I'm not sure what to enter in the State return to fix this issue. I have never had a problem with this in the past. How do I fix this issue so I can complete my return? Thanks, Denise
