Importing Brokerage data does not work

Hi

I am using TT Premier. I have been importing for years so I am not new at this. I successfully imported my W2 already this year. When I try to import 1099s from Fidelity and Schwab, I get the same message:

"Success! We got your tax data. You can now return to TurboTax."
But there's nothing there in TT. No data.
Schwab and Fidelity both say the data is ready for importing. I can type everything in manually, but I pay for the import function and I expect it to work.  I have other info I need to import as well.
Can someone help?
John
PS. I restarted my PC, updated Windows, updated TT, cleared my cookies and cache etc

I am able to import tax information from a financial institution using TurboTax Online Windows 11 and a Chrome browser.  However, the financial institution is not Fidelity or Schwab.

Perhaps you should try using TurboTax Online in another browser.

    Hi

Any suggestions from the TT team?

I tried it again today. Same results.

Can someone from the TT team at least respond? I saw another post with the same issue, so I'm not the only one with the problem. Is it a Windows issue? A browser issue? Does it work for other people?

I didn't have an account with Wells Fargo Clearing Services either, BUT my Wells Fargo sign on credentials worked just fine.  So yes I was able to import using WFCS, but not WF as I've done since 2012.  Makes no sense to me.  Like you I've never spent so much time trying to import my 1099 data as this year.  Last year I had another issue.  Not sure why TT changes things that work fine.  I guess they don't thoroughly test their changes.

I found my problem and I mean MY problem. In the WF Connected Apps page I did not read it carefully. I selected all the accounts I needed info for but neglected to check the box that actually allows the data to be sent to WF. My impatience strikes again. Once I did and initiated the import I got to the same place you did, the page that said the data was not ready and to try back later. It also had a selector to opt for auto download (?) of  the data. But when I selected that I couldn't save the page. Oh well, at least I made it further into the maze of tax prep.

When I imported from Schwab (using Microsoft Edge) the information came into TurboTax Deluxe but created a new 'bullets/banners' for the Dividend and the Interest for 2024.  So I had two bullets for my 2024 Dividend amounts, one showing the values from Schwab and the second showing $0.  Ditto for Interest.  I finally deleted the bullets with the $0's but am manually checking the other values to see that they match my 1099 hard copy.

This issue may be the one that ends my TurboTax subscription because the product seems to add one new frustration every year.

When downloading from a bank or financial institution, I see the 'bullet/banner' being created under the name of the financial institution.

Are you saying that you are seeing a second 'bullet/banner' that is unnamed also being created?

    This I have not experienced.

No, I am saying I see a second bullet/banner for Schwab with the data I wanted to import - but the first Schwab bullet-banner is there with $0 and if I click on it it starts me on the process to download from Schwab again.

I have the same issue with my TurboTax 2025.  Even using Microsoft Edge, I had no data imported even though TurboTax said "Success!..."  I found out that you have to go into the browser settings and change the site permission to allow intuit.com to access any device on your local network.  Here are the steps:

    1.  Go into your browser Settings.

    2.  Go to Privacy, search, and services

    3.  Go to Site Permissions

    4.  Go to All sites

    5.  Find the intuit.com entry

    6.  Change the setting for "Sites can ask to connect to any device on your local network" to Allow  (This setting is at the bottom of the list of permissions.)

    That worked for me!

rmwospck's solution, changing the permissions in the browser's settings, worked for me.

Feb 2026 still getting the same issue. on American Funds and Fidelity.  Says import is complete, return to TT, nothing happened.  After reading other comments, this worked for me on Chrome.   close all the browser tabs but one new one.  Run browsing History Delete all. Restart browser. Try the download again.  this time at the same time it said download complete, it also said "...Intuit wants to Look for and connect to any device on your local network".  Last time I said BLOCK, cuz this looks scary.  This time I clicked ALLOW. Then when I went back to TT, it had 10 of my accounts listed, with check boxes for which ones I wanted to process.  Which is a relief cuz manual entries would have taken forever.   TurboTax has continued to get more frustrating with each passing year.  I only use it because it imports data from my old return, especially rental depreciation. Actually, "frustrating" isn't the right word.  I hate it.  I hate TT.

I'm using desktop and before the msg was that the institution had not gotten their end ready for downloads. Yesterday was the day they would have it ready. Now if I click to edit that financial institution instead of the option to download, I am taken to manual entry. No way I'm going to try that. You'd think their tech team would get this fixed.

The edge browser neglects to ask permission to transfer the data.  I switched the default browser to Chrome and it worked properly.

Rookie question here. Are all the tips regarding the browser relevant just to the online version, and not to the desktop version?

I was using the desktop Premier software, when the problem cropped up for me.....i.e. Transfer Successful....but it wasn't.

I have been using TurboTax since 2012 and am also familiar with importing 1099 data.  I called TurboTax yesterday and was told by the agent they had received several identical calls yesterday.  They told me TurboTax is aware of the problem and there is an issue with how the data is being made available to TurboTax from financial institutions.   I was told there is an update coming in a couple days but TurboTax wasn't sure if it was related to 1099 data.  They said the import function has been working intermittently up to this point.  They told me to try again in a few days.

I am having the same issue and can not figure it out. It went smoothly last year but is not showing up this year and there are a lot of sales so I can't input manually!

I am using TT Premier. I have been importing for years so I am not new at this either.  When I try to import 1099s from Fidelity, I get the same message:

"Success! We got your tax data. You can now return to TurboTax."
But there's nothing there in TT. No data.
I tried this multiple times on three different days starting on Feb 19, 2026 and still have the same problem.

I switched the default browser from Edge to Chrome and restarted Turbotax and tried again and Turbotax completed the import.
When using various other web sites, I have seen more frequently that they say to use a modern browser such as Chrome in order to use a particular site.
