Get your taxes done using TurboTax
I finally pieced it together from several other replies. Edge is now broken as far as TurboTax is concerned. But there is a solution:
Change your primary browser to Chrome or any other browser you have installed.
Hopefully you are on a Windows machine. If not, google how to change your default browser on a Mac.
Click on the Start menu and select Settings
Click on the 3 little lines in the top left and of the Settings window and click on Apps
Select Default apps from the menu
Scroll down to Microsoft Edge since that is your current default browser and click on it
Pick Google Chrome or another browser you have installed and click on it
A window will pop up, Click on the Set Default button. I rebooted my machine after this but I don't know if that was necessary.
Now go back into TT and get to the import screen. Select your institution and click continue.
A BOX SHOULD POP UP ASKING SOMETHING ABOUT WHETHER THE APP CAN ACCESS OTHER DEVICES ON YOUR NETWORK. YOU HAVE TO SAY YES TO THIS QUESTION! If you say no, you can never get back to it and imports won't work.
After it says success, you can go back to TT and the forms should be listed. It then asks if you want to import them now. You have to answer Yes again because there is no button that says: Of course I want to import them, why do you think I'm doing this!!
There should be one good form and many blank forms in Turbo Tax, one for each time you tried. You will need to delete all the blank forms.
After you're done, you can reset your browser selecting Chrome then choosing Edge again as the default if desired.
Sorry this is so long. I had to piece together a lot of replies and internet searches to get this to work. Hope it helps
