Thank you, DoninGA and VolvoGirl for the additional input. My hesitation was based on the back cover of the actual cardboard package, which was different than 2023, and looks contradictory to the links you posted, re: using Deluxe to import 1099-B. I just didnt want to open the package and not be able to return it if Intuit was not now allowing Deluxe to import 1099-B. I decided to "risk" it, opened the Deluxe and installed, and gave the import function a trial. Message said forms (from Schwab) wouldnt arent available yet, but didnt outright reject the attempt, so my guess is that Deluxe still allows for the 1099-B (and other) import.
I have to say it really bothers me when companies inaccurately describe their products.
On the back of my TT Deluxe 2024 Desktop Version envelope, it clearly says that TurboTax Deluxe does not have the following feature, but TurboTax Premier does have the following feature:
"import your investment information from participating financial institutions"
Now it turns out that Deluxe Desktop does indeed import investment data. When you are selling your product to millions of people, it is outrageous that Intuit is this sloppy. How many thousands of us will unnecessarily buy Premier Desktop when all we need is Deluxe Desktop?
