I had two different ACA insurance providers and have two marketplace-assigned policy numbers -- different months for each policy. What do I do?

In other words, I have two 1095-A's. How is this handled by turbo tax?

You are saying that one 1095-a has numbers for January to June and the other has numbers for July to December? Is that what you meant by different months?

 

I believe that you can just enter the 1095-As separately, and TurboTax will collate the numbers.

I do not believe that there is any way to enter 2 1095-A forms in TurboTax.  I hope someone can give you a detailed set of directions for doing that, if it is possible.

Yes, you can add multiple 1095-A's to your return.

 

If you have already entered one 1095-A, type '1095-a' in the Search area, then click on 'Jump to 1095-a'.

 

You may be asked about Unemployment first.  Continue, and you will see a screen 'Here's what we have for your 1095-A' 

 

At the bottom, click on 'Add Another' (screenshot).

I had tried that a few years back and there was no way to add a second.  Glad it has been resolved and thank you for the steps and screenshot.

Additional Forms 1095-A can be entered into TurboTax - you can record multiple 1095-As by following these steps: 

 

  1. In your return, click on Federal Taxes. 
  2. Click on Medical. 
  3. Then click Start next to Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A)
  4. Answer the questions on the next two screens and click Continue
  5. On the screen that says Let's get the info from your 1095-A form, fill in the information from the 1095-A then click Continue
  6. Answer any questions on the screens until you get back to the beginning and you should be given the option to enter another 1095-A
  7. Then enter the 2nd 1095-A the same as above.
