Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I fixed my return twice and it was rejected 3 times already.

It says my birth if date is wrong but it's not. I don't know what to do.

If your date of birth has been entered correctly in TurboTax, then please call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 to verify that their records are correct.

If SSA records are incorrect and have to be updated, it can take up to four weeks to transfer the updated information to the IRS. Then, after four weeks, please refile your tax return.

If for any reason you can't get it corrected, then you will have to file a paper return for this year. To print and mail your return, please follow the instructions on the page How do I print and mail my return in TurboTax Online?

You have two options: File your return without the child, then send in an amended form and add the child or mail in your return with the child. The IRS will investigate to see who should be claiming the child. They will ask one or both of you for proof and make a determination.

I recommend you just mail in your tax form and get the process started. It will take months.

If you feel there was identity theft involved, then you need to call the IRS and report that. If a family member claimed the child without your knowledge, it would still be identity theft unless the other parent claimed with confusion.
