I chose direct deposit, my state came in a paper check in the mail. Will my federal also come through the mail

Did you choose a bank account that is in your name?  If you didnt then that is more than likely why you got a paper check. Therefore, your federal return will probably come the same way. You can visit irs.gov wheres my refund and it will tell you. You will need to enter your  SSN, your filing status and the exact amount of your refund.
