I'm facing the same issue!
In addition to the steps outlined to remove the zero on line 9, you also have to remove the zero on the top of the form. Then press continue, and you can proceed to filing. Just worked for me.
I used the inspect tool and was able to delete the 0, but when i hit continue it brings me right back to the error screen and the 0 is back. Am i missing something?
Form 8582 is used to figure the amount of any passive activity loss.
If this is in your Maryland tax return, our team is working to resolve an error message in some Maryland state returns that give an error message about Form 8582 needing an update, even if there are no passive losses to report.
This didn't work for me. I deleted the whole section, still throwing the error. Tried deleting the 0 --nothing. Using the online, not desktop CD.
i have Deluxe and the issues are the same!
The communications between TT and Maryland filers has been poor at best and has caused many of us unneeded heartburn. No apology to us besides working on it. TT should compensate us Marylanders for this, maybe free software vouchers for 2022 tax year.
FYI it is Massachusetts also not just Maryland. yes, I agree free voucher. I have called at least five times on this.
try it this way got to the form on line 9 where the 0 is right click then click the insert tab but this time when you go in on the left side there will be 3little dots (...) right click it and click edit hml a little box will pop up scroll down until you see L9 deleted the two words dis abled disabled and also make sure you delete the word number and the 0 next to it then hit enter and then that should take care of the problem it worked for me
Amazingly helpful!
thank you you must delete the word number and the 0 or it won't work
Hi. I already tried that. It won't delete.
I did what you said, the 0 disappeared from the form. I clicked on Continue and it came back, and the same error is preventing me from filing.
Maybe TT does not like States beginning with 'M' !
I Try that option.. but It didn't work on my end.
