Form 1095-A comes from the Marketplace at Healthcare.gov to show insurance premium information for use in Form 8962 to calculate the Premium Tax Credit. This section is under Deductions and Credits, in the Medical category.
If you selected that you has a HDHP in the HSA portion of the return, it would not have generated those forms. However, if you had accidentally generated them, they would show in the Delete a Form Tool, under Tax Tools and then Tools.
Hi,
are you using the online or a download to your computer. If online, just go to topic, type in 8962 and change your answer to No and it will resolve itself.
if using turbotax software on your computer the top line were it says "file edit view forms, etc. and click on view then click "open form" and type 8962 and it will take you to the form at the bottom you should be able to click "delete form"
Hope this works for you.
"I accidentally filed as a HSHP. Now I need to delete form 8962 and 1095A."
So which way do you intend to file: as if you had an HDHP (and HSA), or with Marketplace insurance, or both (because a Marketplace policy can also be an HDHP)?
Also, are you using the Online product or the CD/desktop product, because the instructions for each are different to delete things.
Please let us know what you are wanting to get rid of and what platform you are on do we can help you.
