How to enter Form 1116 Part II Col P Other Foreign Taxes paid (not accrued)

I'm not sure how to handle the refund I received. I'm filling out my 2020 Form 1116. Every month I remit $750 to the Canadian gov't in estimated taxes for a total of $9,000. Then in the following year I file my taxes there and usually get a refund. In Form 1116 Part II Col P this year should I put in for taxes paid as $9000 minus the refund I filed for 2019 and received in May 2020? Or should I put in $9000 minus the refund I asked for this year and will receive in May 2020?

I'm leaning towards the first, $9000 minus the refund I filed for 2019 and received in May 2020.

Thanks in advance.

Please let me know if there is anything unclear about this question.

It seems like "Taxes Paid" should be the all the taxes paid in 2020 minus the refund from the prior year, but I'm just trying to make sure of this.
