How do I fill the W4 for myself and my spouse?

How do I fill the W4 for myself and my spouse? Both on W2 with a dependent, but one makes almost twice what the other makes.

Hi @jvera Thanks for your question. I recommend taking a look at our W4 Calculator You will be able to input jobs for each of you. Input that you have a dependent as well. The final screen will give you a breakdown for the W4s. Hope that helps!

Both you and your spouse will have to complete the Form W-4 with your individual payroll departments.  If you want to get a better idea about how you can best withhold from each of you, try using a W-4 Calculator tool.  This will give you a good estimate of the total withholding needed and a way to plan for how much you should each withhold.  Periodically, you should check your year-to-day withholding on your pay statements to see if adjustments are needed.
