Please tell how to file my 1099 taxes for 2019 i have no idea wat the ip pin so i cant use anything not even paper fileing
I'm in the same boat!! Frustrating!
Has anyone filed it by mail or been successful in obtaining the PIN?
IRS is not accepting phone calls
The IPPIN Tool does not work
You have to wait 21 days to get one if it was working.
It takes 3 months if you file by mail.
Like I said, there is nothing you can do.
I have way to get my ip pin i can’t take to nobody or do it online it’s asking for loan information that i don’t have please trying file my stimulus i really need help
I been mailed my tax return you have received it but haven’t processed it i need my ip pin to file my stimulus please help
@dacoldest87 As has been previously stated ONLY the IRS can resolve this and the IRS call center is closed due the the virus. There is NOTHING anybody can do to help you, sorry, but it is what it is.

You have three options:
1) Wait. The filing date is July 15 (or Oct 15 if you file an extension but pay any tax due by Jule 15). By then maybe the IRS will return to normal.
2) Print and mail the return. but note that the IRS is not processing mailed returns at this time.
3) Go to a tax professional who can personality identify you and have you sign a e-file release, then a IPPIN is not necessary.
I am a tax professional and I have never heard of option 3 ... if my clients don't have a required IPPIN then their return will reject and there is no release I know of to change that. Their only option if they cannot get the number is to mail in the return. When a client needs to mail in a return I do have to include a form 8948 to explain why I am not efiling the return but that has nothing to do with a self prepared return. An individual can mail in a return they file and although they SHOULD enter the IPPIN if they have one it is not required.
From the IP PIN instructions:
Enter the six-digit IP PIN when prompted by your tax software product or provide it to your trusted tax professional preparing your tax return. An incorrect or missing IP PIN will result in the rejection of your e-filed return or a delay of your paper return until it can be verified.
@Critter Thanks - I won't suggest that then. That came from another poster that had the reject issue that was solved by using a profession where the e-file was accepted without the IP PIN.
I have tried everything as well. Was a victim of I’d theft and someone got 20000 in refunds in my name. Moved twice since then and haven’t filed for 2018 or 2019. I mailed in paper 2019 taxes on April 1. Hoping for the best but I tried HR Block even and they said they can’t override the pin. This is government at its best. I just don’t know how they can not at least answer the phone for victims of ID theft?
I am so sorry for your frustration, as an identity theft victim myself I can definitely relate to the many headaches it causes!
As you have discovered, currently the IRS is still closed even for the IP PIN retrieval assistance and it is not anything that even a professional tax preparer can override.
It's hard to say if it might be quicker to continue to wait for the IRS or to mail the return for processing - particularly since the closure is affecting the processing of paper returns as well.
It will be up to you to decide if you want to wait to file until you can get the IP PIN, or just print the return and mail it for processing.
and I wasnt a victim of identity theft as far as I know. I didnt know that PIN existed. I never got it but I moved last year. You would think the post office would forward that. I moved in July
My problem. I filed my taxes in jan 2018. In 2019 i didnt file because i made less then 500 the whole year and 2020 same thing. My ip wasnt sent to my permenant address but my last physical address so i never recieved it. I can get past the identity verification to retrieve my pin. But the second step is claiming it cant verify my ideninty thru my current phone number which is a government foodstamp phone. Doesnt make any sense at all. The phone lines arent open.. So how id a person that is currently homeless and has filed taxes before and still havent recieved a stimulus check. If their not going to help everyone then they need to open back up the world n let ppl go back to tryin to finding some type of work. Cuz right now they just sending ppl thru a big headache for no apparent reason. Im homeless been homeless living on the street this covid 19 **bleep** is not real if im homeless and am not sick at all and it supposably started in my state and has now rached way across the country. To me the government is intentionally trying to **bleep** the citizens with all this covid19 bull**bleep**. Its a hoax
They don’t make it easy but I guess that is the point. Anyway, I can now get to the last question, verify phone number. It won’t or can’t verify my att prepaid number. Has anyone had success on getting all the way through with their phone number as well at the end? If so, please tell me what provider you are using and if prepaid or contract? This is all I need to finally get my pin. Thank you all in advance for any help you can throw at me.
