Taxes can't be emailed to the IRS or other tax authorities. It is also not a good idea to email a confidential file like a tax return to someone else you know do to the lack of security with an email. If you want to take the risk, you can attach your pdf file to an email and send it.
To file a tax return with the IRS or state, it must either be efiled using TurboTax to submit it or it can be printed and mailed.

When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.
