First make sure your Form W-4 reflects how you will be filing your taxes.  Make sure you are claiming the correct filing status and no more dependents than you will actually claim on your tax return. If you are a high wage earner, there is also an option to have an additional amount withheld in Step 4, Line C. Also, here is a handy tool that you can use:
