a dumb answer by a government employee. the only way to get the 8962 to work correctly is to enter the slcsp through the 1095A. entering directly in 8962 is an override and Turbotax won't let you e-file with overrides.
Unfortunately, this is a no-go. Many other people who have tried doing it this way have subsequently had their returns flagged and have received letters from the IRS stating that their 1095-As did not match what the IRS had received. In many cases, this has resulted in refunds delayed by many months. (One person reported waiting seven months with no resolution in sight.)
I confirm, that is a problem with the TT, 1095A need to be decouple from the 8962. Healthcare.gov is supplying the calculator for the SLCSP. The numbers are required to be entered to 8962 directly into column B.
The only way to edit is to enter the correct numbers in your 1095-A column B section on TurboTax. The 1095-A itself is not sent to the IRS, it is just used to populate the 8962. The IRS already has a copy of your 1095-A.
