Based on preceding comment, I shouldn't need to file a F 7206 yet TT is generating one nevetheless. Perhaps this is the reason for the "red flag".
A little stuck here myself, and a little frustrated. The good news is that its only Feb 9 -- hopefully TT resolves quickly.
Not Fixed: I received an email from TT saying Form 7206 was repaired.
Using 'Windows Desktop, it did open differently this time, told me there was an update, loaded it, rebooted TT app and I was very encouraged, but...
The same error message popped up at the end as I tried to file my taxes, saying I cannot file due to Form 7206. This issue is 'not' repaired.
I received an email saying my form is ready. Sadly I checked for updates and there was nothing new and I still can't e-file.
I filed 4 days ago but still havent got email about finalizing returns,,its feb 9th,,turbo tax said after feb7 forms would be available

I agree with @jmr_new. I checked the instructions for both F7206 and F1040 (page 91, under exceptions). Both instruct to use F7206 under the circumstances @jmr_new posted previously. Those are not my circumstances. So why is F7206 being generated?
I tried to explain this to TT support yesterday but he wasn't hearing me.
This posting (from this morning) indicates TT is aware of issues with F7206 and are working on it. Hopefully that includes recognizing that the form is being generated unnecessarily.
If they don't figure that out by next week I'll consider filing by mail and not including F7206. Line 17 on my schedule 1 (Self Employed Health Insurance Deduction, the reason for this whole mess) has the correct value. In my case this value is derived from values on F1095-A and F8962, not from F7206.
I may also consider importing to H&R Block like @green-quest but I really have a problem paying for prep software twice. Unless TT gets this resolved by early next week they are definitely fired for my future returns.

Today 2/10 another update and restarted computer BUT starting with Federal forms afterfile check the message still reads you cannot e-file as you have federal forms which cannot be filed by e-mail and again indicates the form is 7206. I am using desktop version. Since TT apparently solved the issue for online version users, I believe they will solve it for desktop. Very frustrating. Will hope for resolution next week.
