Filed an extension on May 17th, extension was rejected. I paid the taxes due through turbotax on May 17th, but no money has left my bank account. What's wrong?

I paper filed tax return on May 25th, after being unable to efile, I have complicated tax returns.

Please explain how you think you paid your tax due "through TurboTax."   What did you do?   If you were trying to ask for a direct debit and your e-file was rejected, then that information was never transmitted to the IRS.  "Rejected" means it did not go through.

And since you have now filed by mail, it is taking the IRS a very long time to process mailed returns.   If you did not enclose a check with your mailed return, you have not paid.

If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, (which has the address printed on it, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.

Yet, response from turbotax was 'Okay, just mail your printed tax return, you have enough time due to error for filing the tax form by mail'. On top of that, turbotax indicated that the payment was made in its box, but no money was withdrawn from my account - so this doesn't make any sense to me.

Boy, that's confusing.

You can easily pay directly on the IRS site.  The link for that is already in the reply above.
