Federal Form 2210, Part IV

It would be very strange indeed if the software was just throwing a random number is that column.  So I would have to assume it is coming from somewhere.  When adding up withholding on Form 1040, it has lines for withholding from Form(s) W-2, withholding from Form(s) 1099 and withholding from "Other Forms".  Do you have any unusual withholding on one of these "Other Forms" that maybe TT is not handling correctly?

Other things to try.  Get your source documents back out (W-2s, 1099s) and verify your entry of withholdings into TT ties with no overrides.  And, not to belabor this point or cast doubt on your adding skills, double check that the numbers you input add to the correct total.  I had a problem a couple years ago tying out some withholding and payments I made.  I bet I worked on it for over an hour.  Kept adding things up and it wouldn't tie.  Turns out I had one item, some number like 12,696.  Yet every single time I looked at that number and entered it into excel or a calculator, I entered 12,966.  It wasn't until I got all my source data back out and entered each number very slowly into the calculator that I realized what I was doing.  Other than these few suggestions, I have no other help for you.  Sorry.  TurboTax will have to step in.

I also had 2 pages (Copy 1 and Copy 2) for schedule AI. It looks like it did part I on the Copy 1 and Part II on Copy 2, then added copy 2 last line to line 15 on copy 1 (as it should). Basically it separated self employment from other income on separate pages, though I do not know why it would do this. So if you had no self employment income, that second page being blank MAY be OK. Go with your gut.  Hope this helps someone.  Good luck to you all.

I got my refund from state back (6 business days - not bad), minus an amount I am still trying to figure out where that went wrong. Waiting on letter from state explaining it so I can go back to TT yet again..... Have yet to see my federal refund. Filed both 3/24. It's now 4/13.

Remember folks, your estimated taxes are still due April 15, not May 17.

Federal Form 2210, Part IV

I figured out what the issue was.  I had started my return in late January, early February.  Evidently, the old non-updated form 2210 was still in my return.  Someone spoke earlier about a "ghost" form.  I guess that was what I had.  Just now I went in and deleted Form 2210,  went back and re-entered everything related to it.  No errors now and column 2 is blank as it should be in the Smart Worksheet.  Thanks for all the suggestions!

Federal Form 2210, Part IV

Yes, I started in early February too. After reading about all the 2210 problems, I redid the return from scratch (lots of fun to reenter all the 1099s) in late March and saved it as a complete new file. Too bad "Error Check" doesn't catch and flag all these "Ghost forms".
