I also had this problem, I got the same error many times and was still getting it today (March 29, 2022). On a hunch, I tried quitting and restarting TurboTax, and it worked!
If you haven't quit TurboTax since you last got the error about failing to import, I'd suggest quitting and restarting the application and trying again.
I tried again 1.5 months after asking the question. The error keep the same.
So disappointed on turbotax and etrade. Plan to skip both next year.
Called Etrade myself yesterday. NO THANKS to Turbotax for being proactive & resolving issue w/ Etrade directly. Etrade claimed it was a matching physical/mail address issue. PURE BS! Live @ Same address for last 16 YEARS!! No issues downloading Stock sale 1099B info last yr. @ same address. Address Change @ ability to download was supposed to take 1 hr. 1 day later, Error message still reads- no related tax info found. WTH?! We owe over 150k in taxes due to disallowed wash sales!! Turbotax SUCKS!!
We are still getting the same error. Calling ETrade was no help. Calling Turbotax resulted in automated message after message. Finally have given up and am paying a tax preparer to complete our return and get it in on time.
Total WASTE of time and money this year. Glad I didn't wait until the last week to try to file and find this ridiculous error.
Happy closing Turbotax software worked for you. Tried it. Exited out and closed Turbotax. After updating & opening back up, Turbotax gave same error message- NO related tax info found. 😫
Been trying for several days to make this work.
Had zero issues with Charles Schwab and LPL Financial -
Is anyone working on this????
Unable to import from E*Trade, says "there isn't any tax-related info to import right now" Fail to import tax form from e-trade using turbotax 2021
If are trying to import stock information from your E*Trade Brokerage account and you are recieving the following error message after attempting to import from E*Trade that states: "This import was unsucessful.
There isn't any tax related info to import right now. No problem we will help you enter the information and continue with your .... "
The problem is that in the search bar you have selected Morgan Stanley - E*Trade BANK the import will fail. It ONLY works if you type in the Import search bar - "E*Trade Securities" - this is the selection you want and it prompt you to imput your Username and Password.
This is because the information is attempting to import BANK info when you are trying to get Turbox to import your Securities (Stock) 1099-B TAX INFO!
Once you type: "E*Trade Securities" into the search bar it will then allow you to chose what documents you wish to import.
Took me a few times before I finally figured it out. Hope this helps!
this is ridiculous. I have never had this problem with Etrade and TurboTax and it's almost April 1.
I've tried restarting and everything and zero progress.
If you are still having the same issue, please follow the instructions here to contact us by phone so we can look into this further.
Can you actually just post a non-generic, non-form solution after you have spoken with people specifically about E*Trade? I know several others in real life who are all having this issue with E*Trade. No other brokers.
Also, can I say it's totally bizarre that the online version and the downloaded version have different functionality. Like, online has the ability to import from crypto brokers. It's all so strange.
agree 100%. Problem is chronic and only between TurboTax and Etrade
I have exactly same problem as what has been discussed in this thread. Not able to import Etrade stock information. I have nearly 1000 transactions, including cost basics reported to IRS, and RSU/ESPP that cost basis not reported to IRS.
As of 3/30/2022, still no luck. Has Turbotax seriously take care of this issue at all?
Has anyone got this fixed after talking to anyone?
very frustrated and tired dealing with E*Trade and TurboTax on this issue importing 1099-B from E*Trade, I called E*Trade they now saying TurboTax issue, I called TurboTax the specialist said TurboTax do not import 1099-consolidated tax form. I say good bye to both of them this year.
Same for me, today I tried all the paths of e*trade xxx and different import paths from Turbotax (-int -div 1099-B). I pay the extra for Premier to do only this and I'm slightly pissed. If I had a ton of stock transactions to report I would be super pissed. Please fix this, there should be automatic alarm bells going off with support when this happens and there should be a log we can send to developers. I'm guessing there is something in our 1099-div data that is blowing up the Turbotax code that E*trade changed in their data, I would gladly submit my 1099 data from E*trade to the development team if there was a way to do so. The things that are odd about my 1099 is that I have a corrected 1099 and also a foreign tax paid. I looked at all the links posted in this thread and none help. The only thing I want to hear in the response to this is how I can send some logs to the development team, anything else is just f'ing useless. E*trade might be sending no data or Turbotax code is blowing the reading of the data, those are the only two options I can think of what is happening.
