We bought a 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 in November of 2022. It was assembled in the US and is eligible for the EV tax credit. This is verified using the IRS VIN checker. However, when I put in the purchase date, Turbotax shows no tax credit. When I put in a date before August 16, it shows I do qualify. I believe there is a mistake in the Turbotax software thinking my vehicle is not eligible for the tax rebate, when it does qualify, per the IRS and their website VIN checker. Thoughts?

Did you select that you were under contract to purchase it prior to August? If so, you will need to enter August 15, 2022 for the date placed in service. If you do not, you will not get the credit. If you were not under contract to purchase prior to August then be sure that you select no you were not then enter the purchase and put in service date.
Vanessa,
Thanks for the response. My apologies, I had not gone to the next page in the process. I had seen that my credit had been zeroed out when I put in the date on the first page, so I was trying to understand the problem before going on to the next step of data entry.
Thank you!
