Erratic numbers in 1040X

When I open my 2021 return and select 'amend a return' and do the amendment, which is simply changing filing status, the 1040X form shows very unusual numbers for income - it shows the currently filed income as something like $-240,000 and the amended amount as something like $290,000...

When I scroll through and look at the amended 1040 it shows the correct income - NOT $290,000... more like $60,000

What's happening?
