Live in Delaware and work in New Jersey. My employer withheld income tax for both states on my W-2. I'm not sure how to enter the info in Turbotax for boxes 15-17. I'm assuming I select New Jersey for box 15 and box 16 would just be the state wages for NJ (the state in which the income was earned). Then for box 17, I'd enter income tax withheld using two separate entries- one for NJ and one for DE (as it is broken down on my W-2). However, Turbotax keeps giving the error message "the state in box 15 should only appear once". I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and Turbotax will not allow me to complete my FEDERAL taxes without fixing the W-2 "error" related to STATE tax info.

No, don't report box 15 as NJ for both lines. You will have 2 separate line items for boxes 15 - 17. One will be NJ for Box 15, with the NJ wages as reported in box 16, and the NJ tax withheld from Box 17. The next line will be DE, with the DE wages from box 16, and the DE tax withheld from box 17.
You can't report NJ for both lines, because there was tax paid to Delaware, and box 15 determines how to report the tax paid on your state return(s).
Thank you! I see what I was doing wrong now. Part of my confusion was due to how the fields to complete boxes 15-17 are laid out in Turbotax. I've correctly filled in all the boxes (for both states) and now Turbotax is happy - as am I. Thanks again for the guidance:)
