I'm stuck in loop trying to e-file my 2022 personal return. Program says personal security code & date of birth needed, but I've already input this information. When I go back and re-input it goes back to the error message. can't get beyond the final review screen. Have tried re-installing TurboTax program with same result.

Thank you for the suggestion. Tried it but did not work. BTW, I've spoken with two different Inuit advisors, the first advisor failed to resolve so she escalated a second advisor who could not resolve the issue. My call got dropped when I was on hold while she was reseaching.
I had a lot of trouble last night trying to e-file my returns. I got all the way to the very end and it wanted to do a check for any updates Well, thats when the crap hit the fan! I couldn't get out of that error message. Everytime I tried to do something else to fix the problem, it just kept sending error messages (tried reinstalling software).
I called the customer service as well and the same thing happened to me. Got disconnected while on hold. They said they were having some issues with the CD's that we bought and especially from Costco. That's where I got mine. I even tried the CD on my other computer because they were saying it could be my malware or firmware interfering with the CD's software but I didn't think so. I think something was wrong on their end and when we tried downloading our CD's, we encountered issues with errors popping up even though we had all the correct information put in. I called them about 4 times; so frustrating for me last night.
Best of luck to you. I was able to finally e-file my taxes! Just hope its for real. LOL
Thanks for sharing your experience. I agree with you that it is very likely a bug in the software. I don't need anymore frustration so my plan is to file a paper return, which I have not done in years. I am a newly retired CPA after 44 years in public practice and used Intuit Pro Series most of that time. First time using Turbo Tax and maybe my last.
This is the first year I have had this problem and I have been using Turbo tax for years now. I think it’s like everything else…lack of workers there and not getting the quality of tax preparation as in previous years. I almost did what you are planning to do…file paper returns. I was just turned off by that idea. I already do that for my senior tax credit that I get now. So, I’m just happy that it did go thru (e-file) and in a week or so, hopefully I’ll have my refund. Undecided about how I’ll file in the future. Don’t need these headaches dealing with computer/software glitches. All of that should have been detected before any CD’s for taxes was designed and ready for sale to all of us. Just my opinion on all of this. Sure looks like a lot of people are experiencing problems too. Yikes!
I'm curious what you did to get your e-file return to go through. Fortunately I owe money (sounds strange to say I'm lucky because I owe tax) so I won't have to wait forever for a refund from paper return. I understand the IRS is making progress working down the paper return backlog, but I'm sure they have a long way to go. Thanks for your input.
