Dvidends from US government bonds; I'm in Missouri.

With regard to dividends from US government bonds; I'm in Missouri.

Some brokerage houses will have it clearly specified on the 1099, but some don't.  I have asked the ones that don't and am still waiting for a response.  Going to the Fund website leaves me searching through countless pages of information, mainly the current fund makeup.  Is there a common title for this information, I have tried some obvious ones, or phrase that would be a suggested search term?  Google gives me the report I want but for funds I don't.

Once I get this information, I know how to enter it in TT but unsure what supporting Docs I need to attach (How) when filling electronically.

Your 1099-DIV will have federal obligations in  box 12 and those will be exempted from state tax. MO also exempts income from MO state and local obligations included in your brokerage income.

Most brokerages do have the information in their supplemental pages, without it, you have to determine what the funds were invested in. The annual report will give you the details.

Keep supporting documents with your tax file, in case anyone asks.

fiduciary name (e.g. Fidelity) supplemental tax information 2024

I find searching on Google more productive than searching the funds web site

Right or Wrong,  My Box 12 only shows the Obvious Government funds like XYZ Missouri bond fund.  It does not include the ABC Income Fund that on close inspection has 10% of its dividend due to US Treasuries.

I will keep all my information and calculations, just in case.

Thanks
