Due to Corona, the IRS still hasn't processed my 2019 taxes. Contacting them they stated I should enter $0 for my 2019 AGI when asked by TTax. Where is that be in TTax?

The IRS mentioned that I had to enter $0 "because that's what our computer will have in the system until we clear the backlog of 2019 filings".  My 2019 AGI was clearly not $0 but this is what they told me to do and I'm saving their letter!

TurboTax will ask you your 2019 Adjusted Gross Income amount in the e-file section. The IRS requires your 2019 AGI to verify your identity for e-filing.

What is Adjusted Gross Income:(AGI)? Your AGI can directly impact the deductions and credits you are eligible for, which can wind up reducing the amount of taxable income you report on your tax return.

The AGI calculation is relatively straightforward.

  • It is equal to the total income you report that’s subject to income tax—such as earnings from your job, self-employment, dividends and interest from a bank account—minus specific deductions, or “adjustments” that you’re eligible to take.
  • Your AGI is calculated before you take the standard or itemized deductions —which you report in later sections of the return.

Robert Miller was in jail and did not make enough to file 2019 taxes

Sometimes AGI = zero works and sometimes it doesn't.

Waving the letter from IRS won't change that.

@1946 Individuals behind bars are eligible for the stimulus payments. The IRS is no longer sending out checks. An incarcerated individual will have to file a 2020 income tax return to get the stimulus. You can file a return with no income just to get the stimulus. If will be added as a “refund” on the tax return.
