Download from both 2024 online and 2023 desktop versions of Turbo Tax to 2024 Desktiop version of TT (Premier)

I did our 2023 taxes in Turbo Tax Premier Desktop.   I started doing 2024 tax return in TT Online version so I could have access to Live Help when I needed it.  However it seems I cannot upload the very many depreciation schedules I have in the 2023 tax return in Turbo Tax Desktop (Premier) and I would have to reenter all of those depreciation schedules all over again.  So I plan to switch to TT Premier Desktop as I know when I start the 2024 TT Desktop Premier I can transfer the 2023 tax data, including all of those depreciation schedules, into the 2024 Turbo Tax Premier desktop.

- can I also download what I have already entered into 2024 TT Online to the 2024 Turbo Tax Premier desktop without losing what I have transfer in from the 2023 TT Premier Desktop?

- If I use 2024 TT Premier Desktop, can I get Live Assist help/support to tax questions?

Thanks in advance.

You could have transferred from 2023 on your computer into the Online version.

But no,  if you start over in the Desktop program to transfer from 2023 you can NOT keep your 2024 info you entered into the Online version.  And if you transfer 2023 into Online you will have to clear out 2024 and start over.   You can only transfer 2023 into a brand new blank tax return.

So you are stuck.  Either start completely over to transfer 2023 or stick with your 2024 entries and manually enter all the prior depreciation etc.

If you want to move to the Desktop program and keep 2024 you can without paying for Online.  When you install the Desktop program and start a new return there is a button to continue from Online.

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax Online account.
  2. Select Start or Continue on Tax Home to enter your return.
  3. Select Tax Tools and then Tools from the left menu.
  4. In the Tools Center pop-up, select Save your 2024 return to your computer.
  5. The file will download with the name taxReturn.tax2024.
  6. (Optional) Locate the downloaded file and change the default filename to something more recognizable, for example JohnDoeTaxReturn.tax2024 (just make sure you don't change the filename extension to the right of the dot).

Your online return is now saved in a format can be opened in the TurboTax software.
