Does Turbotax Premiere 2022 downloaded desktop version finally support direct import of the crypto capital gain/loss CSV file from companies like Coinbase? Or is it still a Turbotax Online only capability?

Yes, you can upload these into Turbo Tax Premier.

Thank you for the response, I just called into Turbotax support and spent 45 minutes on the line with an agent who ultimately could not figure out how to import a cryto transaction CSV file from coinbase into the desktop version either. The generic import function only support TXF file format. The help guide provides instructions for a function that doesn't seem to exist. The question "How do I upload a CSV file of my crypto transaction?" has instruction says: Select Search then search for cryptocurrency, then Select jump to cryptocurrency. However, there is no "jump to crypto currency" option in the search results in the desktop version. And seemingly no way to manually get to the function either.
My assumption is that Turbotax still doesn't support crytpo import in the desktop version and makes a misleading generic statement that Premier crypto is supported, when in reality its only support by the online version. Just like last year.
If there is a way to do it, please provide the instructions in here. That way others can see this post and use it as well. If there is not a way to do it, please state that so others don't waste their time.
Yes, there is a way to import your cryptocurrency transactions into TurboTax desktop. Start a free tax return in TurboTax Premier Online. You don't pay for the return until you file it, so you won't have to pay the Online fee. Enter (import) your cryptocurrency information in the Crypto section, and then save the .tax file (not PDF). You can then open the tax file in TurboTax desktop, add the rest of your tax data and file.
Here is a link to a TurboTax article that explains how to save a .tax file. How do I save my TurboTax Online return as a tax data file? This FAQ will also have instructions on how to continue your return in the TurboTax CD\Download version.
That you for the reply, this is the same workaround I did last year. It is misleading to say the desktop version supports crypto, which it doesn't. The online version does, and you can start online and then move to the desktop. But if someone has already started in desktop, they have to completely start over in online, then come back to desktop. The desktop version should be update to include it. Or at minimum the very first question when someone starts a return in desktop mode should be about crypto so it can provide them this instruction.
